Special Education Advocacy in Riverside County
My name is Stanfield Janek, and I’m here to stand with you and your family as you go through the often-complicated world of special education. As an experienced advocate, my mission is to ensure that your child receives the support, services, and accommodations they need to thrive academically and socially.
I work with families of special needs students to address challenges in the educational system. Whether it’s attending an IEP or 504 Plan meeting, reviewing school records, or advocating directly with schools and districts, I’m committed to supporting your child’s educational rights.

Here's how I support you
- Meeting Support and Representation : I attend IEP, 504 Plan, attendance, and other school-related meetings with you. I make sure your voice is heard, your concerns are addressed, and your child's rights are protected.
- Understanding the Fine Print : I review and interpret school records, policies, and assessments, breaking them down into clear, actionable insights so you can make informed decisions.
- Problem Resolution : When conflicts arise with schools or districts, I advocate for your child's best interests, working to resolve issues while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the school team.
- Observation and Recommendations : By observing your child in their school setting, I gain a first-hand understanding of their needs and provide recommendations for specific services, accommodations, or professional assessments.
- Expert Referrals : I connect you with trusted professionals for additional assessments, therapeutic services, or legal counsel if needed.

FAQ's
Consider hiring an advocate if you feel overwhelmed by the special education process, if your child's needs are not being met, or if there are disagreements with the school regarding services or accommodations. I can provide support to navigate these challenges.
Eligibility is determined through an evaluation conducted by the school. This assessment finds out whether your child has a disability that adversely affects his or her educational performance and requires special instruction. Parental consent will be sought before evaluations are conducted.
If you disagree with the school's evaluation, you may request an Independent Educational Evaluation at no cost to you. An IEE is an assessment conducted by another professional to provide an unbiased evaluation of the educational needs of your child.
